STR Nexus
Why we built it

For everything after the door opens.

What we saw, where the work comes from, and why it is free.

What we saw

A guest opens the door after a long drive. The light they walk into, the message that made them feel expected, the evening they tell a friend about: that is what they remember, and what they write about. Most hosts work it out on their own, stay by stay.

STR Nexus is where that part is kept and taught: each property's details, its house guide, its messages, the steps a cleaner follows, and guest experiences written out to the last detail. It works beside the booking software you already use.

Where it comes from

The work is Kulachka Studio's. Svetlana Hanover has hosted since 2010, some 200,000 guests across 25 rentals. In 2022 she and Jon bought the Pump House, an inn in the Poconos, and ran the method whole, on real guests. The experiences here grew from that practice, and the tips in every lesson are hers.

What the research says

The method came first, and the research has caught up with it. Four studies the lessons lean on:

Plating

Food plated with care tastes better to guests, and seems worth more.

A salad plated like a painting was rated tastier, and diners said they'd pay more for it. Michel et al., Flavour, 2014

Why it is free

The workspace, two whole experiences and a preview of the rest, the Payout Rescuer and the Review are free to use, for good. What carries them is what a host may choose to buy: the other experiences, each unlocked once; a review card for every property; and the studio's services, done by hand. The workspace runs on infrastructure that costs almost nothing at rest.

Your workspace is free. It stays free.
