This is Fondue for Two: a warm, sweet evening in, set on one tray in about ten minutes before the couple arrives, and at its best after dinner.

The evening

The couple checks in and finds a tray already waiting on the coffee table. Two small white cups, side by side, a fork resting in each. Later, after dinner, they sit down, each in front of a cup of their own, and light them when they are ready.

Nothing to cook, nothing to clear. Just two small flames, the chocolate softening, and the two of them.
